1) Facebook – my all time favourite. It has 1.71 billion monthly active users as of June 30, 2016, of which 1.57 billion are mobile monthly active. Whaaat? And you think that you can run out of people to talk to? LOL. Also 84.5% of users are outside the USA and Canada (stats from Facebook’s official website).
So you can probably guess that it’s the place to be. What’s cooler is you’re able to see someone’s profile and a lot of information about them, so you can actually scope out your ideal prospect without even talking to them.
You can also communicate through a variety of methods such as live streaming, video, audio (via chat), pictures and smilies. I actually use a lot of these in my recruiting to change people’s state which then gets people in a buying mood quite frankly (if you want some help with this please reach out to me on Facebook).
It’s so simple to use and virtually everyone has an account. I have probably recruited upwards of 75 people across several affiliate programs just from Facebook and been able to generate MLM leads in the many thousands, without doing any paid advertisements.
2) Snapchat – as of recently this platform is totally exploding. It was initially for teenagers however now there is becoming more of a presence for marketers. There’s even adverts now that display on Snapchat. Gary Vaynerchuck, social media expert, highly recommends ANY marketer to be using this platform as you can captivate an audience with it easily. Also the fact that the videos are in 10 second increments means the content is more digestible.
3) Periscope – when this first launched it absolutely BLEW UP. This is live streaming for your phone. Did you also know that less than 1% of all the users have done at least one live stream? So based on that you can tell that there is a big piece of the pie you can claim and corner the market. You may need to upgrade your data package with your network provider however!
4) Warm contacts – if you have some great people who you know and have worked with in the past, or at least have done business with them at some point, then definitely use warm market to generate MLM leads. I realise however that your warm market may not be an option especially if you have burnt through them by promoting multiple products or opportunities in the past.
How you can approach this is just be honest and upfront with what you’re doing and most importantly, not become emotionally attached to whether they join or not. If this is NOT an option that will work for you however then don’t panic, as there are soooo many other ways to get leads.
5) Twitter – I have around 11,000 followers on Twitter so am super biased about this! What I like about the platform is that everything is very instantaneous, though really it’s very similar to Facebook in my mind. Very addictive! One downside with this platform in my view however, is how many spam accounts exist due to automated tools on Twitter being a dime a dozen.
6) Pinterest – this is a picture based platform which you could quite easily use for marketing, so long as it’s in the right way. Some interesting facts to know. 81% of users are female and half of Pinterest users earn $50K or greater per year, with 10 percent of Pinteresting households making greater than $125K.(Oct ’15 stats from Omni Core Agency) which make this for a very undermined platform for marketers. If you have a product that is centred for women or is a higher priced product, this could be a great place to find leads.
7) Referrals – just remember to ask for them! It’s easy to get lost in the moment and forget completely until after you’ve finished the conversation with a prospect.
My chiropractor gets around 80% new business from referrals alone so word of mouth can be SUPER powerful, in some cases it can actually trump other strategies. Think about when a new movie comes out or restaurant opens, and how quickly word can spread (good or bad!) which in a lot of cases can lead to someone buying or NOT buying.
So be sure to respect using referrals and not to be too pushy with someone who does not buy…you can just ask for a referral to generate MLM leads, with no harm done. In some cases if you do forget and you’ve only recently forgotten (as in a few moments later!) then it’s probably fine to ask without looking weird.
