Want some tips on how to start a home based business that will actually be profitable?
If you’re reading this then most like you want tips on how to start a home based business, and it could be as a 2nd income to pay some bills or even to replace a full time job.
As you may have discovered by now, it may seem complicated to do as there is so much information online, it’s hard to know where to start. In this blog post you’ll discover 5 pro tips to simplify the process of starting a home business that will actually be profitable.
1 – Find a mentor.
This is a crucial step that many people attempt to skip. A mentor can tell you where you may be going wrong, and which mistakes to avoid from their own experience. Without a mentor you will be doing trial and error to create success, which could take years or even decades. If you want to fast track your success, a mentor is the gateway.
2 – Start a business with little overhead and upkeep.
Hiring a building and employees is expensive, not to mention a giant headache at times. My advice is to find an online business to promote which you can start from less than a few thousand dollars, with a low monthly maintenance fee.
Also, you want it to work flexibly around your schedule especially if you have a family to consider. Go here to see what resources I recommend when starting an online business.
3 – Set an intention or a goal with your business.
Imagine going to an airport and catching a flight, not knowing your destination. What if you ended up in the middle of a war zone? You must set an intention, at the minimum to make enough money in your business replace your main income consistently. Then set more goals after that to keep the momentum going.
4 – Document your progress along the way by creating content.
Why is this important? It brands you as an expert and builds good will with your audience. You can also subtly mention any of your products or services that you promote, so long as you give a lot of value and help to others up front. This can be done on social media or by blogging.
5 – Attend events and build a strong network.
No matter what you business you end up starting, having a network is always going to be invaluable. This is important so that you can not only find people to help you with your business, but who may be able to offer opportunities to you that will benefit you.
A network is worth far more than any business, always be building it and treating them like family!

My sister is considering starting a business from her house, and being as supportive as I am, I was curious to know what she would need to know to help make it successful. I found it interesting when you said that one thing she needs to do is to set an a goal to help replace the main income consistently. This will be really helpful for her to know so that she will be able to have something to focus on, and hopefully be able to create something that she loves to do.
