What are the issues if you join more than one MLM?
Have you been researching to see what the potential risks to your business might be? If so then you may want to take a close look at this blog post to save yourself getting into some potential difficult situations when working multiple network marketing companies, before you decide to join more than one MLM.
The biggest reason why people decide to do this is usually that they already have one MLM company and it may be growing well, but not as well as a hot new trend that has just appeared. For me personally it does make sense to promote a business that has a lot of ‘buzz’ with it, on social media for example. It sure helps as people like to look at something that is new and has excitement going on around it.
Also if you are able to offer a lot of value e.g. training and mentoring in exchange for someone joining your team, then people are a lot more likely to ‘clone’ themselves and maybe join another company such as yours. It can be a fast way to Hit a New MLM Company Rank if you start a new company and bring in a few people quickly however.
However be careful with joining start up companies that are new and the others have very little prior experience running MLMs, especially if they have never done network marketing themselves.
Now is is it illegal to be in two network marketing companies and to join more than one MLM?
Personally I would say no, although it may be against the terms of service for the company that you’re in. So let’s say you do join a new company, what do you do next?
Now this is a tough call to make as it depends on whether your existing team are happy with where they are in the company. If someone is happy where they are I generally don’t ask them to jump ship to something else.
If that person reached out to you with an interest in joining your new company then in my book it’s okay, and you are not trying to ‘cross recruit’ as that person came to you for help. So anyone in your existing team who is on track, I tend to not ask them to join more than one MLM unless I know they can handle it (or the price point is low for example).
Other problems that might arise is that word gets around and people in your old company may decide to talk negatively about you. There is little you can do about this and this happens even if you are only doing one MLM at a time and simply change focus.
This is just part of the deal if you decide to move companies, end of. My advice is to ignore any negativity and block people on social media, your email list etc. So just keep it moving and don’t give energy to it.
Overall I recommend building just MLM company and doing affiliate marketing offers which do not conflict with any MLMs – here is a blog post on the Best Affiliate Programs to Make Money to supplement your network marketing income while that residual income builds up.
