How can you start a successful home based business without failing for years on end?
Whether you already are a business owner or you are just looking to the idea of running one, you probably already know that being an entrepreneur sure is no picnic. Luckily to prepare you, I’ve written these tips on running a successful home based business to help you get up and running like a professional!
Be prepared, some of these tips may be not what you expect…but they will help you to grasp the concepts you need to know to crush it in any business.
One of the biggest things people fail to do early on when starting a business is to find a mentor, meaning someone who has the results you want and is willing to show you the way. It is well worth paying a few hundred or even a few thousand dollars for a mentor rather than going through painful trial and error for years.
Why is paying for a mentor better? It gives you the ability to fast track your results if you find someone who can coach you on what to do and what not to do when running a successful home based business. You can basically copy what they do and get the results that they get, avoiding all the mistakes they had to make.
If you don’t know what you market, you can search an affiliate network (definition is here) to find products other people have created, and earn a commission per sale. Even eBay has their own network!
Other things that you can do are to observe what other successful business owners are doing to get results, and interview them to ask them how. You can start to build an audience just by interviewing experts and putting recordings of the interviews on a blog or YouTube. Here’s an example of a Jon Penberthy Interview and how this works.
So that leads me onto my last point, which is to become an expert in any field or business you decide to go in by creating content where you share what you’ve learnt to create an audience. Although you still want to start a business and make your main focus income producing activities, you can still create content that gets you exposure and leads in the background.
Make sales in the short term, create content that will always be there for the long term. If you stop making sales and approaching potential customers or business partners, your income stops if you don’t have any content bringing in traffic and leads. This takes time but it sure secures your business down the line by creating continuity. It’s worth the time investment!
