What are the top characteristics of an entrepreneur who is really going places?
If you’ve stumbled across this post all about the characteristics of an entrepreneur, more than likely you’re at least entertaining the idea of being your own boss.
Maybe you’ve already started a few projects or have plans, and the goal of this blog post is to prepare you with 7 characteristics of a successful entrepreneur so you know which traits are required to get results.
1 – They are relentless folk, not wavered by other’s opinions.
No matter what anybody says about them or their mission, they are on a mission to succeed. Although it is hard to not care about what others say, if you want to stay focused then don’t focus on this and instead work on your dream relentlessly.
2 – They can think and decide quickly on their feet.
When you’re an entrepreneur you may stumble across challenges that are suddenly thrown at you. You’ll have to make tough decisions, and sometimes have little time to consider or think about them. Despite this, you have to make a decision, as often times you can fix the wrong choice better than making no choice.
3 – They can operate on little sleep and food if needed. They get the job done.
Although this is not sustainable to do frequently, the job must be done and sometimes that may mean pulling a few all nighters to ensure you’ve covered all bases. They rest when they are done, not tired. It may mean being unbalanced temporarily but is always worth the sacrifice.
4 – They are leaders.
They know how to lead a pack and lead them to victory. You have to be able to walk forward in complete blind faith at times, not knowing exactly what is going to happen next. Leaders make bold decisions AND take responsibility for things that go wrong, not just go well. You have to have this same full responsibility also.
5 – They are excellent problem solvers.
An entrepreneur will deal with issues that pop up all day long sometimes, but they see them as learning points rather than road blocks. They love a challenge and the fight of owning that challenge. Even in their personal life they will become great problem solvers, constantly innovating and improving ways of doing things. Best of all, they will challenge traditional ideas and concepts that can be built upon.
6 – They are great communicators.
They aren’t afraid to tell others how they feel, even if they may offend someone (which they won’t lose sleep over either). However it is sometimes more beneficial to be direct and to the point, straight shooters waste no time. They may not be well liked but are always well respected for their transparency and honesty.
7 – They never give up, even against all the odds. They know they will win eventually.
Yup, they more than likely think about quitting more than you might believe, even if they’re doing well. Being an entrepreneur can mean you’re misunderstood by many, and so forming a mastermind helps to counteract this negative self talk.
This is unavoidable just so you know, and your best bet to be positive is to be surrounded by positivity not negativity. If you feel like quitting, you’re on the right path! Keep going until the end.
