Are you looking into coaching programs and wondering if they’re worth the investment?
No matter which industry you’re in or what your goals are, it’s vital to have a mentor to help you reach your intentions.
Joining coaching programs is one of the best ways to do this you can avoid painful mistakes yourself, by learning from a coach who has already made them! Here’s 4 things you can gain from investing in coaching programs:
1 – You don’t have to try and fail with lots of new strategies to see what works.
Having done this myself for a number of years, I can tell you that this was NOT a fun way to learn marketing. In hindsight (a beautiful thing!), I would have gotten a mentor from day one. This is what I suggest you should do too, as the money you spend on a mentor is better value than spending years of your life struggling to become an expert.
You could learn in a few weeks some key strategies that could take you much years or even decades to learn by yourself from the right coach. How do you find the right coach? It’s a good idea to check testimonials and to speak with the coach(es) yourself before investing with coaching programs.
Here’s some words of wisdom from one of my first coaches, Norbert Orlewicz:
And also some huge nuggets from Ryan Deiss, one of the top marketers I first started to follow when first getting online:
2 – You don’t need to endlessly buy new courses, products and attend countless events or webinars.
Now that’s not to say that you shouldn’t continue to invest in your education, but many people blindly buy things that they never even use. When you have a great mentor and a coaching program that gets results, you don’t need to go and invest in new things quite as much.
Most people do not have a mentor and are stuck with jumping around in all sorts of directions. If you’re in this position, my best advice is to stick with one mentor or coach who is getting results, and just model what they do.
Don’t try and model 10 different people at the same time. Just find someone who you really resonate with, that you feel can help get you to your breakthrough, and has created results for others.
3 – You can ask them for advice that’s specific to you and your business.
This is a much more powerful way of learning than watching YouTube videos, as these only give tips that won’t apply to the context of your business.
For example, let’s say you’re in a particular type of niche, you would need to check that a sales strategy you’re taught would work with your type of audience. Only an experienced mentor would be able to look over your business and give good advice, this is not possible reading blog posts and surfing online videos.
The best thing to do is find a coach who has expertise in an area you want to also become an expert in. Say you want to become a sales professional, then you would follow someone who’s an experienced sales trainer.
In conclusion, finding the right coaching programs and taking action on what’s taught in them could be exactly what you need to take your business further. The only thing that could hold you back is not being coachable and following instructions, so always take the simplest way to get results and don’t overcomplicate the process.
Here’s a top online marketing expert Anik Singal who really helped me early in my entrepreneurial journey:
4 – You can be introduced to some incredible people and grow a strong network.
From being surrounded with high level entrepreneurs, you can meet some highly skilled people to add to your network. You could also meet one of your next business partners in a coaching program or mastermind.
My experience of being in coaching programs is making life long friends that I can also joint venture with at some point in the future. You could even consider doing things like emailing each other’s lists, once you have built up a sizeable email list.
