Are you lacking a strategy when wondering how to grow my business on Facebook?
You may be a business owner and doing some heavy research on how to grow my business on Facebook, and if that’s the case you’re in the right place. Facebook sure can be a tricky platform to master as selling and being social are two very separate things. So how do we go about promoting our products, services and offers on this platform?
Today I’ll share three powerful strategies to get more exposure to your business without needing an insane marketing budget or a team to advertise for you.
How to grow my business on Facebook tip #1 – Use your personal profile to market your business
This may be limited over time, as Facebook basically wants to convert any business related profiles into fan pages so that you’ll have to pay to advertise your business. The goal here is to connect with people in your niche or industry who already buy something similar to what you offer.
Think about what kind of valuable information, tips and resources that they might find useful, and over time you will build an audience.
The other limitation is that you can’t advertise, and therefore scale using your personal profile. You can, however, copy and paste or upload your content on your personal profile onto a fan page when you decide to scale up your marketing efforts.
How to grow my business on Facebook tip #2 – Promote your business on a professional or business fan page
A popular option is to now advertise on Facebook, where you can target their users based on their interests, age, marital status, location and virtually any other habit or demographic that you can think of. You can get very targeted and specific which is great if you’re in an industry that appeals more to a certain type of person.
The only thing to bear in mind with fan pages is that they will get very little exposure by Facebook unless you pay for advertising via their platform. You probably need $500 per month as a minimum starting budget, however you can run ad campaigns as low as $5 per day. Head over to my Free Training page for in-depth Facebook ads training.
How to grow my business on Facebook tip #3 – Create a niche specific group and add people to it (with their permission!)
That last bit is very important, people get ticked off if you add them to groups without their permission! Unfortunately there is no option to accept an invite into a group before someone adds you into one, so this is open to abuse a little bit…respect the platform if you are doing groups, and the platform will respect you back.
Anyway, groups can be used to create a community around your industry or niche, and you can post valuable tips or information around what you do (with subtle references to your offer of course). It’s like having a networking function or meeting but it’s 24/7 and YOU are running the show. Pretty cool huh?
This can work really well to incubate potential buyers and to drip-feed them information about what you do, without trying to ‘push’ any products or services.
