What are the key factors for business success that actually lasts?
If you’re an entrepreneur, or one in the making, then you are doing the right thing by researching ways to grow a business. Even though most entrepreneurs actually have the knowledge however, they still can fail! In today’s post, you’ll learn 5 key factors for business success so you can struggle less, achieve more, and spot more opportunities.
1 – Treat your business like a business, and not confuse it with a hobby.
While this is fairly common knowledge, a lot of people with limited experience greatly underestimate how much time and effort is required to actually get a business off the ground. This is especially crucial in the beginning while you set your foundations.
The best way to be disciplined with working your business properly is to actually treat it the same way as a full time job. If you have a day job and you decided to not turn up without letting anyone know, how likely would you be to still be in that job after a week or so? Don’t skip days! Show up daily no matter what’s going on.
2 – Be consistent with a handful of skills.
It’s very easy to want to do a million and one things, but the reality is you need to get good at selling your products or services. Do what pays you best and keeps the business running, and anything you are NOT good at you shouldn’t focus on if possible. This is where outsourcing or collaborating can come in handy, as it’s not possible to be an expert at everything.
Find out what you’re good at, work with that and figure out the rest as you go. You only need a handful of skills to make a huge impact, hiring and collaboration can help take care of the rest.

3 – Get good with people and build your network.
One of the main key factors for business success is being good with people. In almost any business you will encounter people at some point! If you get good at listening to people, negotiating and making people feel comfortable around you, then you are more likely to be trusted by people.
People do business with those that they like, know and trust well. Building a solid network is not something you can put a price on, so be sure to build a respectable reputation that others can trust in.
4 – Collaborate, don’t compete!
At the end of day, all entrepreneurs are heading in (roughly) the same direction which is time and financial freedom. I have gained lots of opportunities by being open to a collaboration, that would have easily been list if I went in and pitched my offer at the wrong time.
Always be spotting opportunities to collaborate on projects, product launches, seminars and much more…even if it’s just a coffee or a Zoom catch-up. You can achieve so much more with the help of others than you can on your own.
One way you can build your network to find people to collaborate with is by using Facebook. Here’s some tips on how to grow your Facebook fan page fast:
5 – No complaining!
This is a big one…a lot of people avoid mindset, however your self talk dictates a lot about what’s happening in your life now and what will happen in the future. While there are things that happen in life which we definitely didn’t ask for and seem very unhelpful, consider if they appeared to redirect you onto something greater?
Set an example for others and always be positive. Positivity is contagious! Others love to be around positive people and it can draw people to you like a magnet. If you give off a good vibe, I promise you that you’ll get one in return.
