You may have already done quite a lot of research on Magnetic Sponsoring: How To Attract Endless New Leads And Distributors To You Automatically, the book that was written by Mike Dillard circa 2008 and revised then published on Amazon in 2014. Today in this updated Magnetic Sponsoring review, you’ll learn more about whether this book is still relevant and if the strategies still work almost a decade later.
So to kickstart this Magnetic Sponsoring review, what was taught in the book originally?
The concepts today are very much the same as they were back when the book was originally released, which are that if you want to start sponsoring like a machine, you have to position yourself as a leader in the network marketing or home business industry. Here’s a bit of background before we jump in:
Back when the original book was written, you could have received it in a ring binder form along with flashy CDs if you bought some of the upsells with it. Upon ordering the book, you would also get a marketing system to use for free that gave you the opportunity to generate leads and sell copies of the book for a commission, and as an affiliate of the book you would make 40% commission from $40 (the old price).
You could also offer other products that Mike Dillard sold such as Black Belt Recruiting and MLM Traffic Formula which appear to currently be off the market to purchase.
Now, it’s offered for just under $5 as a Kindle so you can instantly download it. Upsells are no longer offered and being able to profit from the upsells as an affiliate. Bet you can say that I sure miss the affiliate program! To give Mike credit, it is pretty dang hard, expensive and stressful to run an affiliate program so you can understand why he stopped doing it.

Now let’s go over some of what’s in these chapters just to give you a taste. In Magnetic Sponsoring, Mike teaches you that there are leaders, pre-leaders and followers in this world (in the book they are named as Alphas, Pre Alphas and Betas) and leaders are the only ones who make it big in this world.
He encourages you to be a leader, by adding value to the marketplace in the form of creating content and training for other business owners. This is crucial as nobody likes the blind leading the blind. People are psychologically attracted to leaders and it is no different in the business world.
Mike then talks about many other reasons why networkers fail and the wrong approach they take to either their business or when marketing their opportunity. He shares the concept of attraction marketing and how that allows you to become the hunter, not the hunted.
Finally, Mike then talks about ways to fund your business using affiliate products that people can purchase, so that you can still raise cashflow even if nobody joins your downline. This is especially important for new business owners to grasp, as most network marketers throw in the towel in their first 90 days or less.
The reason is almost always because of lack of cashflow! Affiliate programs are a great way to cover your costs and have saved my bacon lots of times. This is also a form of something called having ‘funded proposals’ in your business. These concepts were originally shared almost a decade ago and are still valid today…Mike Dillard truly wrote a book ahead of its time.

At the time of writing, there are 146 reviews on Amazon for Magnetic Sponsoring averaging 4.8 stars out of 5. Inside the book there’s also several examples from successful networkers who have used the concepts to grow their downline and be positioned as figures of authority in the industry.
My overall thoughts on the book are that the concepts have been life changing in the sense that before reading it, I never knew anything about how to be hunted down instead of being the hunter. Also, the concept of becoming a leader in the industry was alien to me. No longer will you have to rely on chasing down relatives to look at your business (only if they ask you about it!) and instead, you can use the strategies to grow a team of leaders like I have. I highly recommend this book, and reference it from time to time which I ONLY do with great books.
