Are you trying to make it happen in your business and just find that you’re not using the most consistent way to make money?
Want to know the most consistent way to make money that the top earners use to make it happen?
Before I spill the beans let me share with you my experience in the industry before I discovered these key principles.
I remember it was way back in 2009 when I first got online.
I had just picked up a tattered, worn out copy of Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad from the local library which talked about the 4 ‘Quadrants’ (ways of creating income) which are:
- Employed
- Self Employed
- Business Owner
- Investor
The goal was to move from employee who trades time for money, to self employed who is self sufficient but has no leverage, then to business owner where you have systems and staff working for you, and eventually become an investor where money works for you…instead of you working for money.
So I booted up my ultra slow Dell PC, opened Google up and typed in ‘make money online’ which sent me down a whole rabbit hole of avenues.
I had not a clue what to expect but decided that I needed this as I sure didn’t want to work the 40-40-40 plan most people work where you go to work for 40 years, retire on 40% of your income (when 100% of it wasn’t enough) and receive a $40 watch upon retirement!
I tried so many things online such as filling in surveys, clicking adverts, doing product testing, and countless other ways to scratch up some coin but nothing was working at a rapid pace.
I had absolutely no flipping idea of what to do or where to start, having no mentor was a painful process for me as I had nobody I could learn from and get direct coaching from who has the results I want to get. There was SO much to learn and it seemed like my head would explode at times because of information overload.
Eventually I made some headway and was able to make a few sales a month…though my experience was I was able to make dinner money but it was nowhere near the most consistent way to make money.
In fact it barely covered my costs. So I felt like I was beating my head against a wall repeatedly all day every day. You ever had that feeling before? Not fun is it…
So I kept on searching, looking for answers. I had a burning desire in my belly to make this work no matter what my friends and relatives kept saying about it (maybe you can relate). Not only did I want to prove them wrong but I actually wanted to run it as a CAREER and not just a hobby.
Eventually I found network marketing and understood the concept of residual income, that comes in even when you’re not working. You do the work once and avalanches of cash comes in…at least that’s the scope of it right?
Once I got that concept, I was HOOKED. When you’re in this industry, you are truly in even if you quit and do something else, you always end up coming back to it once it’s in your blood.
So back in 2011 I had just joined my first network marketing company. I remember filling in the order form to join a business opportunity that I was SO excited and nervous at the same time to fill this in and actually join instead of being a wussy and letting other people decide my worth.
The palms of my hands were literally sweating as I got my credit card out of my wallet to enter in my payment details. This was it, I thought…my ticket to wealth and the most consistent way to make money!
It was almost like time stood still for a moment and as soon as I clicked ‘Enter’ it seemed like forever waiting for everything to go through (I was broke at the time and barely had enough money to even start my own business which only cost a few hundred dollars to start up).
I also had no idea what to actually expect as I was totally brand new and only 18 at the time.
So I had no clue WTF was going to happen when I joined and I almost thought I had made the wrong decision when I did join (you ever notice how that voice in your head can talk you out of a lot of things to keep you safe, even if those things can make you financially free?)
I had no formal or business marketing experience, hadn’t used the Internet for more than just online gaming or emails and really had no clue where I wanted to go or what I wanted to do in life…
…I just saw the huge commission checks online with Internet rockstars wearing dressing gowns and flashing a Rolex going to cash checks at the bank on a Tuesday afternoon.
The only thing that made me think it was possible for me to also achieve those results was that these people who were making fat stacks online were just normal people…they didn’t seem particularly smart or started off with good contacts either. It was leveraged though and looked like the most consistent way to make money I’d ever seen.
In fact there were even typos in a lot of their marketing so it goes to show you don’t need to have been educated at a university level to be successful in business…the only education you need is self education.
1) Create content online that is VALUE based…consistently (at least 2-3 times a week, more if you have time).
People need reasons as to why they want to work with you rather than someone else. If you can showcase what you know through creating blog posts, videos, podcasts (pick whichever you would be most comfortable doing) then you will stand out from all the other marketers.
You know, the ones saying “have I got a wonderful business opportunity for you!” but aren’t offering anything tangible to actually solve someone’s problems. People don’t want to start a business that they don’t know how to run.
It’s important to know your audience here…I choose my audience to be other home business owners/network marketers because their ‘pain’ is predictable. Lack of leads, lack of cashflow, lack of closing or upselling skills, lack of mentoring, they do not have the most consistent way to make money in their business or lack of duplication.
In some cases, some people experience all five of these problems! Let me go deeper here:
Hardly anyone in the network marketing industry even makes enough to break even because of these issues. If you can create content that solves any one of those problems or a similar problem in another niche, it doesn’t matter who your target market is…they will stick to you like GLUE.
My suggestion is that you also post this content on a blog such as this one which is marketer friendly, as other ‘free’ blog sites such as Blogspot or Weebly tend to get shut down if they are created for the purpose of selling something.
You also lack the ability to customise or brand your blog on those sites, and as you don’t have control of the blog then you’re at risk of being shut down overnight with no notice overnight. I have seen entire businesses closed in a heartbeat because of this and they no longer have the most consistent way to make money.
Be sure to be SMART with your content creation and think long term. Where will your content be in a years’ time? On your own blog or in someone else’s hands?
2) Sign up and show up for training sessions with a mentor (i.e. someone who has the results that you want)…consistently.
Let me ask you a question…which will happen faster and easier for you: creating a blueprint to creating a 6 figure income through trial and error, or just copying what a 6 figure earner already does?
See a lot of people have an EGO about this and won’t seek help or be coachable so they never reach out to a mentor, as a result they stay broke.
When I put my ego on the back burner and started working with my millionaire mentor, I went from 2-3 sales a month to 2-3 sales A WEEK. I’ve had $240 days, $140 days and several $100 days (in a lot of cases with no cash spend) and have created the most consistent way to make money EVER as a result of finding a mentor. This change happened in less than 35 days for me.
Even my millionaire mentor has a mentor. Trust me when I say this is a MUST if you’re looking to succeed in the next 3 months rather than the next 3 years. If you don’t agree, then what have your results been as a result of NOT having a mentor? If they have been less than you’re seeking then it may be time to consider a chance in your strategy by asking for help.
It also helps if you use the exact system they use too…why waste time and money creating your own marketing platform and tools if someone has already created a working formula for you that you can just copy and paste? Here’s one I highly recommend and use daily.
3) Learn something, apply it, and teach it to others…consistently.
This could be a marketing strategy, mindset tip or anything you want. Use it, get a result and then share it with your team so they can use this to further their business and make you more money. You could also use this result you generate from applying what you learn as a ‘lead magnet’ to attract new prospects e.g. ‘how I made $100 in 24 hours following a 4 step system’. We did this for a webinar replay you can check out here called 5 steps to generate five figures per month online, which was based on real results my business partner and I did.
Your goal is to get a result as fast as possible, no matter how small. The sooner you get an income story for example, the sooner people can see you’re not just hyping everyone up but what you’re doing actually works. The first thing people want to ask is how long have you been doing it, and how it’s been working out for you.
If you’ve got no results then why would they join you? It would be the blind leading the blind. And lying saying you DO have results is a lot worse than just being honest and saying you have none. However neither will get anyone interested.
If you’re looking to drive traffic quickly, I recommend using paid marketing (which I cover below) such as solo ads which is where you ‘rent’ someone else’s email list to get subscribers from someone else’s list to view your link.
Click here to find out where I purchase my solo ads, and I recommend buying 300 clicks to your website as a first timer. I regularly purchase traffic from here (see 4 below).
4) Generate new leads and enquiries for your business…consistently.
If you do not have leads and the most consistent way to make money, you do not have a business. You could be doing all of the 3 above things perfectly but if nobody sees it, then how are people going to buy? It’s very important to get eyeballs in front of your offer daily.
These can be the same people but ideally you will want to generate NEW enquiries too rather than just chasing the same old leads. This creates momentum in your business and gives it some activity.
If you are growing a list and adding your leads into an autoresponder such as AWeber (starting at $19 a month) which sends out emails automatically on your behalf, and this will follow up with older leads almost entirely on autopilot.
As some people require an average of 5-8 exposures to your offer before they buy, an autoresponder is perfect for letting you run your business while it follows up with leads on your behalf, 24/7, 365 days a year.
There are 2 ways of getting new leads…free marketing e.g. social media, or paid marketing e.g. Facebook advertising. With free marketing I recommend having a minimum of 30 hours a week to apply to this strategy. With paid marketing I recommend having a minimum of $500 per month to budget for advertising.
You can put less time/money in but you’ll just take longer to obtain a result. The most consistent way to make money is to start with active prospecting I believe, so that’s going out and actively generating business via leads.
Pick one or a maximum of 2 strategies and do them until you master them by generating at least 10 leads per day per strategy.
Although you don’t need to generate hundreds of leads a day, you will need to make up in numbers what you lack in skill if you’re new and have limited skills.
