How do you run a profitable business during Christmas and keep things moving amongst the holiday chaos?
Do you run a business and don’t want to lose momentum over the holiday period dealing with errands, presents and family visits? Today I’m going to share some tips I’ve learnt from experience to make sure you run a profitable business during Christmas even with the pressure of the holiday season upon you.
The first tip is to schedule things during times that you know you’ll most likely be away from your computer or business in general. For example, I scheduled emails to my list from the 24th to the 27th December in the event that I couldn’t be around to send these emails closer to the time.
Also, you could schedule social media posts using services such as PostCron and I just use their free version which lets you distribute status posts, images etc. at scheduled days and times.
The second tip is to just do money making activities and prioritise these kinds of tasks over other ones that can be done at a later date when there is less chaos! For example, it doesn’t make sense to be doing your accounts on the day that you know family will be round. Instead, just make 25 connections per day (this is my minimum) in your down time.
My final tip for running a profitable business during Christmas is to enjoy the time with your family. Do your best to enjoy your time with them and don’t let your business spoil it for them by interrupting Christmas!
Your best bet during the holiday season is to work late at night when everyone has gone to sleep, or get up super early to do all your work before the real day starts. Take some deep breaths and relax into your work, it may not be as productive as your normal working days but at least put in an hour or two per day as it is better than nothing.
